Animals should not be treated as humans. I love animals, especially dogs but they are not our equals. Yes animals are smart and I do believe that they have feelings but it's really not debatable who is more intellectually superior. I believe that, as humans, it is our jobs to preserve the ecosystem and restore balance to it that our own race totally threw off. Humans don't need animals to survive (as in eating them). Vegetarians around the world have lived almost their entire lives without meat, and it is healthier.
Then there comes the issue of killing animals and if it is morally correct. Like I said before, as the human race, it is our job to restore balance to the ecosystem, not just for the survival of other animals, but also for the survival of our own race. That may entitle killing animals, and if it means balance, in the long run, it would only be beneficial. Take the deer in North America. If we hadn't killed the wolves that were killing all our livestock, then things would be fine, the food chain would go on as it should and the population of deer would not be going out of w*ack each year. I don't like the idea of hunting for sport, but if it's necessary, I'm for it. Some would argue relocation, but they would just become invasive species. Take, for example, the python that is invading the Everglades. They are killing of the native species that live there.
Since hunting is ok, depending on the circumstances, now it comes to the issue of eating animals. I, personally think that it's ok. We are part of the food chain just like every animal on this planet. You don't see a lioness feeling remorse for the zebra that it killed, their bodies are meant to eat meat, and so are ours. It's the circle of life. The big issue is killing to many animals to set of a chain reaction, but the same goes for not killing enough. And anyways, it would be a win win situation when it came to hunting deer. We get to eat meat, while the environment gets restored.
Then it comes to treating animals like humans. Some of you would not agree with this but like I said, animals are not our equals. If someone was threatening to kill my baby or my dog, i would choose my baby. It's sad, I love my dog. But i think that even animals would choose their own offspring when it came to life or death situations. But animals should be treated fairly. I think that it's disgusting how cows are treated at meat farms and slaughterhouses. And the way that chicken are fed all this stuff that makes them bigger and barely able to walk is gross. But cows and chickens are so domesticated that they would never be able to survive in the wild so the only solution is keeping them as pets or eating them.

Actually, animals are intelligent. We as humans might think they don't know what's going on when in reality, they have no say in what they want, and that's only because we like to satisfy ourselves. We're selfish, desirous, hostile...and in that case, people who might disagree with the vote wouldn't dare think twice about animals' minds, and that's completely wrong.

They have feelings, just like they grow up; some with families, some with none. Don't you dare say that they don't have feelings, because you have seen or heard a dog cry. Pigeons might seem useless, but just the other day, I saw two of them kissing. The only reason why you would say that they don't have feelings is because you don't see what animals do in their lives everyday.

We walk down the streets with our heads up, passing by a McDonald's place and buying a hamburger. We eat and eat like pigs, but if there were pictures of slaughtered cows on the menus instead of your precious burgers, you would get sick and realize how much you don't appreciate how you're being fed. People don't make these foods to satisfy you...they do it for money. If everyone in the United States were to stop buying fast foods, their companies would go down and go bye-bye.

Don't be so ignorant. We can eat plenty of foods that don't necessarily have to conclude of meat. Hey, meat's the best stuff. That's why you want it. But humans aren't strong enough to have will power to adapt to healthier foods.

F*** your Bible. Jesus may have spontaneously made a fish out of his hands, but did he ever tell you to torture or kill the poor animals for your satisfaction? Indians killed for survival. They hunted. We, however, have plenty of food, yet we torture or kill our fellow animals to turn them into tonight's dinner. And hey, didn't your "god" give you fruits and other kinds of foods? Oh. Apparently, Adam and Eve eating a fruit was so bad, but Jesus eating an animal? Wow.

If you went to a slaughter house and stood there looking at this man who's about to slaughter a cow right in front of you, I bet you would yell, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" or, "WHY ARE YOU KILLING HIM LIKE THAT? THAT'S SO MEAN." Many people have complained at things like that, but 96% of them run to the kitchen after that to eat their chicken. "Thanks, mom!"

There are many sick people in the world. Would you take a slaughter job? I don't think so. There is no reason to torture an animal. If you enjoy doing that for a living, then you shouldn't deserve to live.

We don't deserve half of things we get, but only the things we earn. If animals could talk, believe me when I say that they would throw a protest. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't want to get tortured, nor slaughtered. Those commercials you see about diet cereals and all that...forget about those. They need commercials about the meat problem, but if they did that, a lot of fast food companies will go downhill. Why don't they do that? Money. You probably don't even realize how we are all getting brainwashed about a lot.

Stop. Buying. Meat. You're supporting every company or hostile thing that they do to our animals. Those animals who are miserable out there right now must hate us.
